Journal Star & District 150 Essay Contest WINNERS!

We asked young writers to tell us what a visitor would experience if he or she observed their classroom for a day…Young writers in grades 1st through 8th submitted their opinions and thoughts through this year’s essay:
“Meet my classroom”

The winning essays are printed in the Journal Star on Thanksgiving Day. All essay winners are invited to ride on the train float in Peoria's Santa Claus Parade the day after Thanksgiving.

Each winning essayist receives a recognition plaque, an NIE sweatshirt, and a $10 gift card to Barnes & Noble.
