winning essays are printed in the Journal Star on Thanksgiving
Day. All essay winners are invited to ride on the
train float in Peoria's Santa Claus Parade the day after
Thanksgiving.
Each winning essayist receives a recognition
plaque, an NIE sweatshirt, and a $10 gift card to Barnes & Noble.
