Service Issues
Service is important to NIE. It’s NIE’s goal for you to be very
pleased with the quality of NIE products and services. If NIE
doesn’t provide the level of service that makes you happy,

Visits and Tours
Request a Teacher Training Workshop or School Visit
Are you interested in discovering new ways to supplement the
material you use to teach your subject area with the newspaper?
Would you like to share your thoughts and experiences using NIE
with the program’s staff members and other teachers?
If you answered yes to either question, in two simple steps, NIE
can send our NIE Coordinator to your classroom, armed with
newspapers and an engaging activity to do with your students. We
will make it fun for your students and easy for you to bring
real world learning to your classroom. The NIE Coordinators are
also available to to run workshops and in-services for teachers
who are looking for new ideas on how to use the newspaper in
their classes.
Once we have received your request, we will contact you to set
up a date, time, place and activity with you. Your request will
be honored on a first come, first serve basis. These services
are free for current NIE subscribers. If you are

Schedule a Tour
Tours of the Journal Star are available Monday through Friday
from 8:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Students must be at least 10 yrs
old, and one adult must accompany every ten students. Tours last
approximately 1 hour. Please make reservations at least two
weeks in advance.
